General Job Summary:
This is a full-time position located on the Administration campus. The Associate Director of Special Projects plays a key role in advancing institutional priorities and supporting emerging strategic initiatives across Iowa Lakes Community College. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing cross-functional projects that align with the College’s mission, vision, and strategic plan to provide quality educational opportunities, support student success, and serve the needs of our communities.
Projects may be a specific local initiative, collaborative regional/statewide endeavor, or oversight of awarded grants, ensuring that projects are implemented in accordance with the guidelines, language, timelines, and deliverables. The Associate Director will work collaboratively across departments to monitor compliance, reporting, and evaluation requirements. Will require flexible hours including weekends and evenings. May be required to travel utilizing personal vehicle. Must have valid driver's license, good driving record, and provide proof of insurance.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Management, Education, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field required. Minimum of two years of experience managing complex projects, preferably in higher education, nonprofit, or public sector environments. Experience working with grant-funded projects, including understanding of compliance, reporting, and deliverables. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across departments and diverse teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in project management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis/reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field. Experience in higher education or community college settings. Familiarity with state and federal grant compliance and report processes. Formal project management training or certification (e.g., PMP, Lean, Agile). Experience working directly with grants offices or external funders.
Salary: $56,135
